About Us
Rob Robertson initiated the Winterfest Series in 2008 due to interest in more quality horse shows in the off season. With growing popularity during 2008 the Winterfest Series was held again in 2009 with two locations, and for 2010 it has expanded to four with a new Series for Dressage, Jumper and Combined Tests at RCRA, plus a new "Start Up" Series at Oakville Equestrian Centre. The Winterfest Series allows opportunities for dressage, eventing, and hunter/jumper riders to continue development of younger horses, plus gives riders and horses of all ages and skill levels opportunities to practice during the low season.
The objective in operating these shows is to provide an opportunity for area riders and horses to compete and train in a casual and welcoming atmosphere, while running quality shows to give the best opportunity to practice, practice, ... develop, and enjoy the experience.
An experienced horse person Rob has been very involved with horses and the horse industry in numerous ways over many years, and brings that experience to benefit competitors and horses at the Winterfest Series shows.
- Show organizer of the 2009 Springfest Hunter/Jumper/Dressage Gold level Show, 2009 Summerfest Hunter/Jumper Gold level show, 2006-2008 Niagara Equestrian Festival "A" shows, the 2008-2009 Winterfest Series, and the 2009 Fallfest Series.
- An Equine Canada and USEF Hunter/Jumper Course Designer for local to major shows around North America including for HITS in California, Arizona and New York, Thunderbird in BC, EMG in Ontario, and others in Alberta, Ontario, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Idaho.
- Director and executive, past and present, of industry associations OHJA, OHTA, Cdn Eventing, and EC.
- A long time competitor in the jumper ring to the Modified Grand Prix level, eventing to the World Championships level, plus some hunter classes and dressage shows along the way
