The 2010 WinterfestDressage Series is now complete Apr 25/10 Congratulations to High Point Champion for the 2010 Winterfest Series - Titus owned and ridden by Heather Buchner. Heather and Titus received a cooler from HorseSmart International, plus free entries at either of the upcoming Springfest or Almost Summer Dressage Shows courtesy of Four Seasons Horse Shows. A disappointing light turnout, but the horses and riders entered enjoyed a beautiful Spring day to finish the Series. Thank you to judge Joanne White, and Kristi Newman for scribing. Apr 11/10 The final show of the 2010 Winterfest Series at Iron Horse is completed and our congratulations to the following Champions of this Series: Open - Finja ridden by Liz Schilke, owned by Ferdinand Haupt; Amateur - Titus owned and ridden by Heather Buchner; Junior - Gold Digger owner and ridden by Rea Paulopoulous; and Eventing - Sprucewood Sneak ridden by Amanda Batchelor and owned by Ann and Bud McLean. Feb 13/10 The first Winterfest Series Show at Iron Horse had a good turnout and a number of higher level tests including Liz Steacie and Rachel Piovesan with Sambuka and Weltherr making the trip from Brockville. Results and updated Series and High Point Championship Charts may be found using links to the left. The ring was specially set up with red roses for Valentines Day. Congratulations to Daisy Kosa riding her mother - Katharine Renison's young horse Althea in Training 1 and 2 achieving high scores of the day. Results and an updated Series Championship Chart may be found using links to the left. These will be updated after every show in the Series. Here's hoping February's shows brings some somewhat better temperatures. Thank you to the competitors for persevering, and your best wishes and positive feedback for the Show and the overall Series was appreciated. It is a great time for bringing along young horses, inexperienced riders, horses and riders moving up a level, and for riders wanting an opportunity to practice tests with their horses in preparation for bigger shows in the season ahead. Association memberships The 2010 Winterfest Dressage Shows are Bronze level sanctioned Equine Canada shows. As a result owners and riders require the following to compete: 1) Equine Canada (EC) 2010 membership at a Bronze ($20) level or higher. Join online with a credit card at www.equinecanada.ca 2) Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF) 2010 membership, junior ($50) or senior ($60). Join online with a credit card at www.horse.on.ca EC horse passports are not required for Bronze level shows. An EC day membership for $30/show is possible but recommend getting a $20 Bronze EC membership ahead of time which will be good for all of 2010. Dressage Tests - Use these links to make it easier to find 2010 Winterfest dressage tests If you are interested in classes not seen in the prize list put all relevant info on your Entry Form so we get the right test - for example FEI Young Horse classes ($35/class), and Para classes if the current show facility is adequate ($35/class), ....
